Virtual Physical Therapy

Picture
At Limitless Performance Physical Therapy we love to help active people stay active. We work with runners, weightlifters, gymnasts, student athletes, general gym-goers, weekend warriors, adults that want to keep up with their kids, and more!

There are situations and times when you may not be able to get to physical therapy sessions or maybe you live somewhere in New York that is not near the Elmira/Corning area. If this is the case for you, we offer virtual physical therapy - also known as telehealth.

How Does It Work?

  1. We get on a video call.
  2. We ask you questions about your current condition and history.
  3. At this point we will have a good idea of what you are dealing with.
  4. We walk you through a movement assessment and some special tests to confirm our diagnosis and find things we need to improve on.
  5. We explain to you what the diagnosis is, how long treatment will take, and develop a plan for you to achieve your goals!
  6. We provide you with exercises that you can do at home and start feeling better.
  7. We schedule you for your next visit! (Usually 1x/week)
Note: You must be a resident of New York State or currently be in New York State at time of session (if residence is out of state) to receive physical therapy services. This rule does not apply to online training services.

FAQ: How Can You Help Me if We Aren't Meeting in Person?

This is the most common question we get about virtual physical therapy sessions. The truth is that we can be very accurate in determining what is wrong just by asking the right questions. Injuries typically follow a certain pattern and determining these patterns is what helps us with our diagnosis. To confirm our diagnosis we have you go through a series of movements and observe changes in movement patterns and range of motion, just like we would in person.

As far as treatment goes, while hands on therapy techniques can be very beneficial, they are by no means required for anyone to recover from an injury. The most important part of any rehab program is determining the root cause of the problem and fixing it with techniques and exercises you can do at home.
